Sixteen teams (down from last year’s 20 teams) competed in the 2025 Open Triples held at Otaki in brilliant sunny weather.
The top eight went into the Trophy section, the next eight into the Plate.
The Trophy was won by Annick Le Guen, Yvonne Futcher and Kevin McFadgen. They beat Ngaire Eriksen, Christine Daykin and Alan Taylor 13-8.
The plate was won by Marie Jones, Gavin Jones and Jon Whittaker. They beat Jan Haumaha, Judy Tyree and George Tyree 13-12.

The Kapiti Super (Over 70’s) Seniors Mêlée was held at Kapiti on 13 November 2025 in changeable weather.

Naenae Pétanque Club hosted a challenge for the Jacques Cochonnet trophy from current holders Upper Hutt, on Sunday 23rd November 2025 at their Naenae terrain.
In the 1st round, Upper Hutt took all three games. The 2nd round was not so successful to the holders, Naenae taking the Singles and Doubles, making it 4-2 to Upper Hutt, and needing only 1 win from the 3rd round to retain the trophy. They went even better and took all three games, reaching an overall score of 7 games to 2, the 20th consecutive win and 19th defence for this magnificent trophy.
The Upper Hutt team consisted of Mary Khalil (singles), Dave Gwerder and Brian Smith (doubles), and Derek Worsley, Julian Teni and Linda Brown (triples). The Naenae team consisted of Bruce Stephenson (singles), Terry Coleman and Simon Grant (doubles), and Michael Rocks, Lee Mathewman and Peter van Heusden (triples).
The next challenge is from Masterton and will again be away for Upper Hutt.

The Trophy final was won by Michael Rocks (Naenae) / Brian Smith (Upper Hutt) against Derek Worsley / Mary Khalil (Upper Hutt).
