Treasurer’s Report:

Brian presented his financial report as of 10 August 2026. There are four invoices to be paid. Could Graeme please produce a budget to cover the upcoming Tri-Star in Christchurch. He is expecting a small loss for this year, about $100 - $200. Brian suggested WPA send out notices direct to all members, as some emails do not appear to be getting through. Brian moved the report be accepted, Claire B seconded, carried

WPA tournaments / Events:

Graeme spoke about the WPA performance at the Chanticleer. As always, it was a tough ask but the five debutants gained great experience. Although Auckland stayed within the rules they had two very experienced French players who made the difference. Graeme may miss the upcoming Tri-Star at short notice as he requires an injection in his hip. Graeme may introduce a program to train club coaches. There will be a Zoom meeting to discuss this with the Tournament sub-committee. Val queried who will issue the entry forms for WPA tournaments – this will be done by the sub-committee.

Hawkes Bay admission to WPA

All clubs supported the admission of the Hawkes Bay clubs to some degree subject to conditions. Kevin will draft a list of conditions to circulate around the clubs for comment. PNZ appears to be driving the admission of the clubs, which have not made contact. Also the number of clubs seeking admission is not known.

Jean Baine, a stalwart from the Hutt Valley, passed away a few days ago.

Alliance Francaise

Claire B had spoken to Dianna of Alliance Francaise about the possibility of meeting up with WPA as has been done with Auckland Pétanque. Dianna had been told by a WPA member that the WPA would not be interested.
