Graham was unhappy that Khandallah still feature on the WPA website but was mollified that Khandallah will cease to exist in April next year.
Brian presented his financial report as of 30 November. He predicts that there will be a deficit of approx $1300 as at the end of April. He intends to produce a rough budget for future years by the end of April, while allowing for future inflation. There are currently 17 competition days for which WPA pays $80/day. Next year there will be 2 trips WPA away, to Auckland and Christchurch. The WPA pays for one person to accompany the team. Claire B wants to get a handle on costs for coaching and training.
After Brian has produced his draft budget, he will liaise with Kevin, Claire B and Graham to produce a document to present to the AGM.
Kevin moved the financial statement be accepted, seconded Claire W, carried
Graeme said the WPA Tristar team acquitted themselves quite well, but not as well as they had hoped. Nevertheless, going into the last day all 4 teams that were entered had a chance of winning. The WPA team were third equal overall.
Claire intends to soon start the calendar for the coming year, and wants feedback by email from all the clubs, what went well, what needs improving, gripes, etc. If you don’t provide any feedback, don’t complain.
Kevin said only six entries were received for the WPA shooting and if it were not for three late entries from Silverstream the event would have been cancelled.
Overall, apart from the mixed doubles, tournament numbers had dropped from last year.
Clive was not present as he was in the process of shifting to Levin. He will present an umpire’s report next meeting.
The website is progressing well. No other comments.
Andy Gilbert recently passed away, with cancer. Jane is OK considering the circumstances and will return to pétanque when ready. They have a good turnout at events and had 30 teams entered in the Pete Hamilton tournament.
Going well, recently picked up three new members, and lost one.
Going well, good turnout, busy schedule.
Busy, hosting WPA events, planning for Kapiti Open, 64 members having gained a few, 52 expected for Christmas dinner.
Core of 12 or so who turn up regardless of the weather, 18 in the club after losing 1 or 2. CJ is in the NZ team to play Australia.
Membership 52 but will drop one at the end of the year (Moises), playing Masterton in new year in JC tournament.
Three teams in club triples. Club thriving at present. Lansdowne Estate Open Triples coming up, limited to 16 teams. Twenty four entries received so far for the Hospice tournament on 6 February (to be held at Horowhenua), could all clubs please advertise this event
(Report by Derek) Recently hosted 21 Take Heart Club members, hopefully some may join Naenae Club. Clive Williams soon to depart for Horowhenua. Sunshades to be installed.
Derek queried should a default in the JC tournament be classed a win to the non defaulting team, which appears to be not the case on the WPA website. Agreed that the non defaulting side be awarded the win. Graeme will investigate and amend the stats on the WPA website and advise Anne to update the website.
