Twenty-seven teams took part in the fourth Wanganui East Open Triples. The defending champions and top seeds from Saturday, Maurice Belz, Jared Handford and Dirk Winnie were upset in the semi-final by Morgan Choveaux, Michael Rocks and Nico Toyne. In the other semi-final, second seeds Ian Baker, Andre Noel and Georgio Vakauta beat Pete Hamilton, Joan Miller and Claire Wilson.

The final was won by Baker-Noel-Vakauta 13-5, who become the first team to win two Wanganui East Open titles.
