Regional Seedings

Explanation

The seeding is based on the results from the Regional Singles, Doubles and Triples Championships. Points are awarded to a player depending on where they finish in a tournament. Players accumulate the points from each tournament.

Seeding points are awarded as follows: 1st = 6 points; 2nd = 5 points; Top 4 = 4 points; Top 8 = 3 points; Top 16 = 2 points; Top 32 = 1 point 1.

The Current Seeding is based on tournament results from the last two years. As the points from one tournament is added, so the points gained in the respective tournament two years prior is removed. This method ensures that the current form of players is reflected in the seeding points.

1 The points allocation was updated with the start of the 2009-10 season. Previously points were allocated as: 1st = 6; 2nd = 5; Top 4 = 4; Top 8 = 2; Top 16 = 1. While the points have been recalculated for the two seasons covered by the current rating list, lists prior to the 2009 Regional Singles have not been updated to refelect the change in the points allocation.
