Twenty-six teams have entered the first event of 2010, the Park Avenue Open Doubles. Tournament field (Not archived, see Results)
Barbara and Murray Johnston were undefeated in winning the third Park Avenue New Year Doubles. In the final they beat Erica Drake and Christophe Vesse 13-9.
Michael Rocks will be running a series of four coaching sessions on Wednesday evenings begining 27 January for intermediate level players who wish to improve their skills. The sessions are limited to 12 players. First preference will be given to those players who who have not attended previous sessions.

The tournament list (not archived, see results) for the weekend has been published. Entries include four players from the South Island, seven from Auckland, two from Tauranga, one from Rotorua and thirteen from Hawke's Bay.
The entry form for the sixth annual Open Triples in Napier is now available.
Maurice Belz and Ron Sandilands improved on their runners-up position from last year in winning the Kapiti Open Doubles. In the final they established an 11-3 lead against Michael Rocks and Nico Toyne. However, the tables turned and the match was tied up 11-11, before normal service resumed and they took out the match 13-11.
The tournament has been rescheduled to April. The entry form is now available.

Six rain jackets were left at Kapiti at the conclusion of the Open Doubles at the weekend. Contact Beverley Mason to arrange return (04-298-1742).
A full complement of entries have now been received for the WBS triples tournament at Masterton on 27 - 28 February. Any entry received now can only be accepted as a reserve team. All teams which provided an email address will shortly be notified of their acceptance.

Results from the first two rounds of the Inter-club competition. Note: Horowhenua defaulted both games, Kapiti and Wanganui East were awarded 16-0 wins.
Forty-one Triples teams competed in the NZ Open at Auckland, and twenty teams took part in the Women's Doubles.
Down 6-12, Francis Ching/Nauta Yann (Tahiti)/Georgio Vakauta (NZ) came back to beat Martial Tetvanui/Rainu Tuaiva/Vickson Tuaiva (Tahiti) 13-12 in the final of the Open Triples. The Women's Doubles was won by Estall Oona/Pere Tumata (Tahiti) over Mireta Abe/Robette Weva (Tahiti).
The Peugeot Medals for the top placed New Zealand teams were: Open Triples - Ian Baker/Michael Rocks/Richard Swaney (3=), Women's Doubles - Margaret Maher/Jean Parley (3=).
