It is with sadness that we report the death yesterday of Gérard Pinguet, Patron of the Kapiti club and formerly of the Wellington club. Gérard was a leading figure in the early days of the WPA.
A farewell will be held at the Whenua Tapu Crematorium, Airlie Road, Pukerua Bay at 2:00 pm on Monday, 7 September.

I was one of the Wellington Team to play against Auckland at Park Avenue on the 29th & 30th August. While we were unable to quite do the business, I would like to place on record, my appreciation to the unknown donor of the team caps. Whoever you are, you helped make the team look very smart, and I feel sure this helped our performance.
Also, to Dirk Winnie, thank you for your sincere and positive coaching and management of the team. We are fortunate to have you on our side.
