Call For Board Nominations

From 2009 the Board of Pétanque New Zealand will be made up of five elected members.

Pursuant to clause 7.3 of the Pétanque New Zealand Constitution, notice is hereby given to all Clubs and Members of a call for nominations for members of the Pétanque New Zealand Board.

Any Financial Member may nominate any other Financial Member for one of the positions as Board member. The positions available are President, Vice-President, Director Membership Services, Director Sport Development, and Director Player Development.

The nomination form (not archived) is attached and all those seeking election to the Board need to have this completed and returned to the Pétanque New Zealand office by 5.00pm on 28 February 2009.

Nomination Conditions

• In accordance with Rule 7.2.2, all Board members must be members of Pétanque NZ.
• The nominator and seconder must be members of Pétanque NZ.
• All nominations for Board members must be signed by the nominee, nominator and seconder, and include a candidate statement and photograph.
• Each nomination must be in writing on the prescribed form.
• Forms may be submitted in hard copy or electronically, provided the above conditions are met.

Timeline & Process

• 28^th Feb 2009 - close-off of nominations for Board members
• 18^th March 2009 - ballot papers with candidate information sent from Pétanque NZ to members for election of Board members
• 18^th/19^th April 2009 - AGM, Board election held and results announced

Information for Nominees

These are voluntary positions and require a certain time commitment, with around 2-3 phone meetings per year, and attendance at face to face sessions around 3 times per year (travel and accommodation is funded). We are looking for good strategic thinkers who can help us work through the challenges faced by a growing sport and organisation.
